Walked 4 miles yesterday and 3 today, so 22/211 for my counts. Would write more, but our A/C's out and my laptop's hot.

I hit 200 miles with 3.5 on Sunday (and had the Slurpee!), and walked 4 more miles tonight for 204 on the year, 15 for August. That's 134 days for the first 100 miles, 89 for the second. 140 days left in the year, and I want 300 more miles. So I need to average 2.15 miles/day. I have no idea if I can pull this off, but goals are good.

In addition my cousin challenged me to join him on the onehundredpushups program. I'm on Day 2, and it hurts. My stomach muscles hurt, so I know I'm not doing them perfectly, but my arms/chest also hurt, so I know I'm working those muscles well. It is amazing how many I've found I could do - 15 in 5 sets over 9 minutes last night. A long way from 100, but it's a 6-week program. If you want to join, I'll probably have to repeat a week at some point and you can catch up.

Finally finished No Common Power. It was a textbook, but not a bad one. I'm wanting to do more educational stuff - anyone have suggestions on how to keep hold of what I learn? I was never good at taking notes, but feel some system of at least minimal information would be good, especially for programming books. I'm open to any and all suggestions. For less significant progress, I'm still finishing my sixth Deryni book.

I walked 3.5 more miles on July 27, leaving me with 10 for July and 189 at that point for 2008. Since that I walked 1.5 miles on Tuesday (foot hurt pretty bad), 2 miles Friday (got there late and the gym closed on me), and 4 miles yesterday for a total of 7.5 for August and 196.5 for 2008. I plan to hit 200 today - let's hear it for another Slurpee!

I also finished the original Deryni trilogy and am on the last book of the 2nd trilogy (Legends of Camber) while I continue No Common Power. I saw the movie Charlie Bartlett which I thought was a lot of fun and Mummy 3 which was about as bad as I expected, but I think that's it for cultural experiences. I did enjoy the opening ceremonies of the Olympics, despite my better judgement, and since then the Olympics haven't been a bad background noise.
