A few little things I wanted to share/record.

1) My fortune cookie yesterday told me to "Expand your horizons by reading a new book." It's amazing that after only thousands of previous errant fortunes, the divination of the fortune cookie rang so true.

2) Why do I read? Because in the middle of a fantasy book, the authors footnote a character's colloquialism with "Reference to a popular dwarven drinking game, the rules of which are far too complex to describe and probably wouldn't be believed anyway." How many new dwarven drinking games do you think have been conceived rather than a single one they could have described? That's just good stuff.

3) I enjoyed this description of how stereotypical nerds interpret and apply tact differently from "normals." Worth a quick read.

Popular dwarven drinking games are so cliche. I prefer the kind of dwarven drinking games that only sophisticated dwarves would enjoy (much less understand)--please don't take offense; apply tact where necessary.
